a bill entitled, an Act to prevent Swine from running at large
in the Second Election District of Cecil county;

Mr. Tobey from the Select Committee, reported favorably
a bill entitled, an Act to prevent the sale of liquor in and within
two miles of the town of Keedeysville, Washington county;

Mr. Gorsuch from the Select Committee, reported favorably
a bill entitled, an Act to alter, and change the name of Wil-
liam Brown, colored, of Frederick city, to the name of John
William Brown;

Mr. Appleman from the Select Committee reported favor-
ably a bill entitled, an Act for the protection of Partridges in
Washington county;

Mr. Phelps from the Select Committee, reported favorably
a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Trustees of the Bap-
tist Church at Jones Mills, in Dorchester county;

Which were severally read a first time.

Mr. Neilson, from a Select Committee, reported favorably
a bill entitled, an Act to repeal sections 806, 807, 808, 809,
810, 811, 812, 813, 814, 815, 816, 817, 818, 819, 820, 821 and
822 of article 4, of the Code of Public Local Laws of the city
of Baltimore, and the additional articles adopted by the Act
of the General Assembly, passed at the session of 1860, chap-
ter 6, the additional sections adopted by the Act of the Gen-
eral Assembly, at the session of 1860, chapter 46; the addi-
tional sections adopted by t.he Act of the General Assembly,-
passed at the session of 1864, chapter 42; the additional sec-
tions adopted by the Act of the same session of 1864, chapter
244; and the 3d section of the Act of the session of 1865,
chapter 46, for the establishment of a Police Force for the
city of Baltimore, and to re-enact with amendments; which,

On motion of Mr. Neilson,
Was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.

Mr. Neale, from a Select Committee, reported unfavorably
upon the petition of George H. Wilson and other citizens of
Kent county, asking that a law may be passed to prevent the
whipping and threshing of the creeks and coves for the pur-
pose of driving fish into gill-nets.

The Speaker appointed Mr. Lankford in place of Mr. Is-
rael, who was excused from serving on the Committee on Hay
Scales.

On motion of Mr. Carmichael,

Two-thirds of all the members being present and voting,
The rules were suspended,

And the House took up for consideration the bill entitled,
an Act to provide for calling a Convention to frame a New
