On motion of Mr. Haller,

Leave was granted the Allegany County Delegation to re-
port a bill to change Election Districts Nos. 6 and 13, in Al-
legany county, so as to create one or more new Election Dis-
tricts.

On motion of Mr. Gorsuch,

Leave was granted the Frederick County Delegation to
present a Mil changing the name of Wm. Brown to John
Wm. Brown.

On motion of Mr. Hammond,

Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill to incorporate the Ellicotts Mills and Elysville
Turnpike Company.

On motion of Mr. Nicolai,

Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to hold
sittings during sessions of the House.

Mr. Gorsuch (the rules being suspended,) presented a peti-
tion of forty citizens of the village of Berlin, Frederick coun-
ty, asking for a law to prohibit the sale of spirituous liquors
in said village.

Also, a petition of John Reifsnider, and seventy other citi-
zens, for a relief in reference to excessive tolls charged by the
Baltimore and Frederick Turnpike Company ;

Which were severally read and referred to Committee on
Judiciary.

Mr. Bixler from the Committee on Education, reported
favorably a bill, entitled an Act, to assist in supplying the
Public Schools of the State with a perfect map of Maryland;

Also, a bill, entitled an Act, to authorize the Board of
Trustees of the McDonough Educational Fund and Institute in
Baltimore county, and to connect a farm therewith.

Mr. Carmichael, Chairman of Committee on the Judiciary,
reported favorably the bill, entitled an Act, to change the
name of Benjamin Edes Long;

Also, the bill entitled an Act, to authorize and empower
the Trustees of the Parsonage Property in Chester Town, of
the Methodist Protestant Church of Kent Circuit, to sell and
convey certain real estate in said town,

Which were severally read a second time.

Mr. Thomas, Chairman of Committee on Ways and Means,
reported back to the House the memorial of the Baltimore As-
sociation for the moral and educational improvement of the
colored people.
