Which was read and referred to the Washington county
delegation.

Mr. Baker presented a petition of C. B. Simpson and other
citizens of Frederick county, against the passage of a law an-
nexing a portion of Frederick county to Carroll county;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Judi-
ciary.

The Speaker laid before the House the sixth annual report
of the Children's Aid Society.

Mr. Waltemeyer presented a petition of sundry citizens of
Baltimore, praying an increase of license to huckers and ped-
lers of morocco, leather, shoe findings, &c.;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr. McCulley presented a petition of 55 citizens of Alle-
gany county, relative to the National Road in Maryland;
Which was read and referred to the Allegany delegation.

Mr. Gorsuch presented a remonstrance of James Curns and
sixty-five other citizens of Frederick county, against any leg-
islative action in reference to existing restriction, for the ob-
servance of Christian Sabbath;

Which was read and referred to a Select Committee.
On motion of Mr. Calvert,

Ordered, That the Register of the city of Baltimore, re-
port to this House without delay, the amount of money re-
ceived from the State for the payment of bounties to soldiers
the sums disbursed, and vouchers therefore, whether in dis-
bursing the bounty fund a per centage was charged, or whether
the soldiers were paid in full, and why he has not settled his
account with the Comptroller.

On motion of Ford,

Ordered, That the following report of the Clerk of the
Circuit Court of Baltimore county, relative to the burnt re-
cords of said county, be printed on the Journal;
