authorized to appoint two commissioners to represent the
State of Maryland in the International Exposition of 1867
in the city of Paris; that the said commissioners be allowed
their expenses; that the Treasurer, upon the warrant of the
Comptroller, is hereby authorized to pay the expenses of the
said commissioners out of the Treasury from any money not
otherwise appropriated;

Mr. Knott submitted the following
JOINT RESOLUTION.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland :
That ttte Hon. Reverdy Johnson, Senator from Maryland
in the Congress of the United States in his support of the
Reconstruction policy of President Johnson which looks to
the pacification and cordial reunion of the entire country, has
exhibited the wisest statesmanship and the purest patriotism,
has faithfully and fairly represented the views and interests
of the people of thia State, and is hereby tendered the pro-
found expression of their confidence and approval;
Which was read a first time.
Mr. Gorsuch announced the death of the Hon. Henry S.
Magraw, late a member of the House from the county of Ce-
cil, and submitted the following:
Whereas, The House of Delegates hare heard of the death
of the Hon. Henry S. Magraw, of Cecil county, one of the
members of this House, and they are impelled by a sense of
duty, and respect to the deceased, to declare their feelings on
this occasion; and
Whereas, they wish to pay a tribute to the memory of the
deceased;
1. Therefore Resolved, That we have learned with un-
feigned regret of the demise of our brother, the late Henry
S. Magraw; that we hereby testify to his noble and dignified
bearing ai a gentleman, and his great efficiency and ability
as a member of this body.
2. Resolved, That each member of this House will wear the
usual badge of mourning on the left arm until the adjourn-
ment of the session of the Legislature.
3. Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions, signed by
the Speaker of the House of Delegates, be forwarded to the
family of the deceased.
4. Resolved, That the flag displayed from the dome of the
capitol be draped in mourning, and hung at half-mast.
5. Resolved, That this body do now adjourn until —— in
further evidence of our respect for the deceased.
