Ex-Sheriff of Howard county, praying to be reimbursed with
certain interest charged upon State tax, and by him paid into
the Treasury;

Which was read and referred to the Committee oft Ways
and Means.

On motion of Mr. Bixler,

Ordered that the Committee on Inspection be instructed to
inquire into the expediency of creating the office of Assistant
Tobacco Inspectors, and to report by bill or otherwise.

On motion of Mr. Turner,

Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to report
a bill to incorporate the Second German Fire Insurance Com-
pany of Baltimore.

On motion of Mr. Davis, of Baltimore city,

Leave was granted the Committee on Education to intro-
duce a bill entitled an Act, to assist in supplying the public
schools of the State with a perfect map of Maryland.

On motion of Mr. Baker,

Leave was granted the Committee on Claims to report a
bill to authorize Grayson Eichelberger, State Bounty Commis-
sioner, of Frederick county, to pay to Ezra L." Karns admin-
istrator of Thomas E. Karns, certain bounty.

On motion of Mr. Dawson,

Leave was granted the Committee on the Judiciary to re-
port a bill to repeal chapter 191 of the Code of General
Laws, and to re-enact the same with an amendment.

On motion of Mr. Haller,

Leave was granted the Committee on the Judiciary to re-
port a bill to add a section to the School Laws, so far as they
refer to Allegany county.

On motion of Mr. Phelps,

Leave was granted a Select Committee, consisting ot
Messrs. Phelps, Kerr and Jump, to report a bill to incorpo-
rate the Trustees of the Baptist Church at Jones' Mill, in
Dorchester county.

On motion of Mr. Whiteford,

Leave was granted a Special Committee of Seven to intro-
duce a bill authorizing the Pennsylvania Mutual Horse Thief
Detecting and Insurance Company of York, Penn., to trans-
act business in the State of Maryland.

On motion of Mr. Dawson,

Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to bring
in a bill to repeal the Act entitled, an Act to incorporate a
