have refunded to him the taxes for 1861, 1862, 1863,1864 and
1865, on certain lands in Allegany county;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. Shipley presented a memorial, of 56 citizens of the
second Election District of Baltimore county, in the immedi-
ate vicinity of the Watersville Granite Quarries protesting
against the bill for incorporating said company, and recon-
structing a railroad therefrom;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Internal
Improvements.

Mr. Bixler presented a remonstrance of John B. Seiden-
stricker and 109 others, against the Legalizing of Sabbath
desecration;

Which was read and referred to Special Committee on Sun-
day Law.

Mr. Knott presented a memorial of Charles E. Gambrill,
W. M. Kennedy, Rex Higgins and Company, and forty other
merchants and "business firms of Baltimore city, remonstra-
ting against any change in the charter of the Baltimore and
Potomac Railroad;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Inter-
nal Improvements.

Mr. Hall presented a remonstrance of J. T. Bromwell and
one hundred others of Baltimore city, against Sabbath pro-
fanation;

Which was read and referred to the Select Committee on
Sunday Laws.

Mr. Appleman presented a petition of sundry citizens of
Washington county, praying the passage of a law to prevent
the destruction of birds in said county ;

Which was read and referred to the Washington county
delegation.

Mr. Steiner presented a memorial of M. Zimmerman,
Sheriff of .Frederick county, for the years 1862 and 1863, for
the payment of claim for services rendered the State during
the above years ;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. Flaherty presented a petition of Frederick Wehr and
other dealers in wood in Baltimore city and county, praying
a repeal of the law in relation to the inspection of wood in
the city of Baltimore, and that part of Baltimore county
known as Canton ;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Inspec-
tion.

Mr. Hammond presented the petition of Thomas Burgess,
