Mr. Ford presented the petition of 392 citizens of Baltimore
county, against the passage of a Hog Law;

Which was read and referred to the Baltimore county dele-
gation.

Mr. Phelps presented a petition of a large number of the
citizens of Dorchester county, praying the passage of an Act
for the protection and preservation of the oyster beds in the
waters of said county, and to prevent non-residents from
dredging and taking away the oysters by force and violence;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Also, a petition of the President and Secretary of the Cam-
bridge Female Academy, praying for the appropriation to the
Academy of the proceeds of the sale of certain Indian Lands
in said county therein set forth;

Which was read and referred to the Dorchester county
Delegation and Mr. Dawson of the Caroline Delegation.

Mr. Calvert presented a petition of 33 citizens of Bladens-
burg District, praying that no change be made in the charter
of the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad;

Also, a petition of 38 citizens of the Second Electon Dis-
trict of Prince George's county, praying that no change or
modification be made in the charter of the Baltimore and Po-
tomac Railroad charter;

Mr. Linthicum presented a petition from citizens of Frederick
and Carroll counties, praying the repeal or modification of
the present school system of the state;

Which were road and refered to Committee on Internal Im-
provements.

Mr. Appleman presented a petition of sundry citizens of
Washington county, praying the erection of a new Election
District out of portions of Districts Number 10, 6 and 7;

Which was read and referred to the Washington county
delegation.

Mr. McCulloh presented a petition of Philip Pendleton to
