On motion of Mr. Clarke,
Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to report
a bill supplemental to an Act entitled, an Act to incorporate
Spruce Hill Coal Company.
Also, leave for the Committee on Corporations to report a
bill to incorporate the beneficial society of the Laboring Sons
of Frederick city.
Also, leave was granted the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill entitled, a supplement to an Act to incorpo.
rate the Peabody Institute of the city of Baltimore, passed on
the 9th day of March, 1858, chapter 209.
Also, leave was ganted a Select Committee to introduce a
bill to enable the institution for the instruction of the blind to
complete and render fit for occupation, the building now in
course of erection in Baltimore county.
On motion of Mr. Phelps,-
Leave was granted a Select Committee to report a bill to
authorize the Commissioners of Dorchester county, to issue
the bonds of said county, for any sum they may deem neces-
sary, not to exceed the sum of fifty thousand dollars, to as-
sist in the completion of the Dorchester and Deleware Rail-
road.
On motion of Mr. King,
Leave was granted the Committee on Roads and Highway
to introduce a bill relating to the opening and repairing of
public roads and the construction and repairing of bridges on
the same throughout the State.
Also, leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to
report a bill to incorporate Howard Lodge of Ancient, Free
and Accepted Masons, in Howard county.
On motion of Mr. Coleman,
Leave was granted the Committee on the Judiciary, to in-
troduce a bill entitled, an Act to protect the property and
archives of the city of Baltimore;
Referred to the Committee on the Judiciary.
On motion of Mr. Coleman,
Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Maryland
Hotel Company of Baltimore city.
On motion of Mr. Hammond,
Leave was granted the Committee on Manufactures to
introduce a bill to establish ten hours as a legal day in the
cotton factories of this State, and to protect operatives therein
under 18 years of age, from laboring for a longer time per
day.
