Mr. Davis of Charles, presented the claim of E. Wells,
editor of the Port Tobacco Times, for publishing the Laws,
passed at January session, 1866;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. Hammond presented the Petition of sundry citizens of
Baltimore and Howard counties, asking that more convenient
facilities may be given them for weighing hay in the city of
Baltimore;

Which was read and referred to a Select Committee on Hay
Scales.

Also, the Petition of sundry citizens of Baltimore county,
praying that the General Assembly may not authorize the
construction of a Railway from Waterville Granate Quarries
to the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on In-
ternal Improvements.

Also a petition of a large number of citizens asking that ten
hours' labor be a legal day in the cotton factories in this
State; and that the minor operatives' may not be allowed to
work longer ;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Manufac-
tures.

Mr. Clarke presented a petition of N. W. Jones and others,
for increasing the license of pedlars ;

Which was read and referred to Committee on Ways and
Means.

Mr. Dawson presented a petition of A. B. Roe and forty-
five citizens of Caroline county, praying the General Assem-
bly to repeal the charter of the Farmers, and Merchants'
Bank of Greensborough, Md. ;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpora-
tions.

Mr. Adylott presented a remonstrance of W. B, Canfield
and one hundred and fourteen others, against legalizing Sab-
bath desecration ;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Jndi-
ciary.

The Speaker laid before the House the reports of the Cir-
cuit Courts of the different counties—Superior, Common
Pleas and Criminal, of Baltimore city, in reply to an order of
the House, giving the number of days said courts have been
in session between the 1st of Jan. and the 31st of Dec. 1866.

Also, a report of the Circuit Court of Baltimore county,
communicating information in regard to the court record of
Baltimore county, in response to an order of the House;
