Mr. Phelps presented the petition of 570 tax payers of
Dorchester county, praying for the passage of an Act to au-
thorize the Commissioners of said county to issue the bonds
of the county for any sum they may think proper, not to ex-
ceed fifty thousand dollars, to assist in the completion of the
Dorchester and Delaware Railroad.

Which was read and referred to the Dorchester county
Delegation and Mr. Dawson of the Caroline Delegation.

Mr. Gorsuch presented the petition of John Sifford, J.
Wm. Birely and four hundred and fifty other citizens of Fred-
erick county, asking for a charter to construct a Railroad from
the District of Columbia to the Pennsylvania line;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpo-
rations.

Mr. Magruder presented the remonstrance of 109 citzens
of Marlboro' District in Prince George's county, against the
repeal or modification of the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad
charter.

Also, the Memorial of 132 planters of Aquasco District of
Prince George's county, against the repeal or modification of
the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad charter;

Also, the remonstrance of 148 farmers of Nottingham Dis-
trict in Prince George's county, against the modification of
the charter of the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad;

Also, the remonstrance of 26 citizens and business firms of
Washington city, against the modification of the Baltimore
and Potomac Railroad charter;

Also, the Memorial of the President and Directors of the
Gonzapa College, Washington city, D. C., protesting against
the modification of the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad
charter;

Also, the Memorial of the President and Directors of
Georgetown College, Georgetown, protesting against the
modification of tae Baltimore and Potomac Railroad charter;

Which were read and severally referred to the Committee
on Internal Improvements.

Mr. Knott presented the Memorial of Herbert & Harriston
and George R. Gaither and others of Baltimore city, praying
against the modification of the charter of the Baltimore and
Potomac Railroad;

Which was read and reiered to Committee on Internal Im-
provements.

Mr. Neilson presented the Memorial of the Young Men's
Christian Association of Baltimore city, asking for relief;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
