The House met and was opened with prayer by the Rev.

The Journal of yesterday was,read and approved.
Mr. Calvert presented a petition from the second Election
District of Prince Gedrge's county, representing the inequality
of the recent assessment, and praying that some action may
be taken that will redress their greviances;
Which was read and referred to Committee on Ways and
Means.
Mr. Davis, of Charles, presented a petition from citizens of
Charles county praying the passage of a law to protect them
against the depredations of non-residents of the county and
State, in the destruction of fish and fowl in the Potomac and
its tributaries;
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.
The Secretary of the Senate returned the bill entitled an Act
to amend an Act to add additional sections to Article first of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany county, relating
to the business of the Circuit Courts and the summoning of Ju-
rors in said county, passed at January session 1866, of tho
General Assembly of Maryland, chapter 138, and re-enact the
same as amended.
Also, the bill entitled an Act to restore to full citizenship
and the right to vote and hold office, all persons who may be
deprived thereof by the provisions contained in the Fourth
Section of the first Article of the Constitntion of this State.
Also, an Act to repeal the seventy-fourth section of the
thirty-fifth article of the Code of Public General Laws, relat-
ing to the election of United States Senator by inserting in
