So it appeared that no person received a majority of all the
votes cast for Senator of the United States.

On motion of Mr. Davis, of Baltimore city,

The Joint Assembly was then adjourned to meet on Friday
at 12 o'clock.

On motion of Mr. Smith,

Leave was granted the Baltimore city delegation to intro-
duce an Act to repeal sections 806, 807, 808, 809, 810, 811,
812, 813, 814f 815, 816, 817, 818, 819, 820, 821 and 822, of
Article 4, of the Code of Public Local Laws of the city of Bal-
timore, and the additional Articles adopted by the Act of the
General Assembly, passed at the session of 1860, chapter 6;
the additional sections adopted by the Act of the General As-
sembly at the Session of 1860, chapter 46; the additional sec-
tions adopted by the Act of the General Assembly, passed at
the Session of 1864, chapter 42; the additional sections adopt-
ed by the Act of the same Session of 1864, chapter 244; and
the third section of the Act of 1865, chapter 46, for the estab-
lishment of a Police force for the city of Baltimore, and to re-
enact with amendments.

Mr. Jones from the Committee on Corporations, reported
favorably a bill entitled, an Act to Incorporate the Good In-
tent Lodge No. 99, of the Independent Order of Odd Fel-
lows ;

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Carmichael from Committee on Judiciary, reported
favorably a bill entitled, an Act to declare the sanction of the
General Assembly of Maryland, to the bequest of Caroline
S. Newman, late of Queen Anne's county deceased to the
Stewarts of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Centreville, in
said county;

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to declare the sanction of the
General Assembly of Maryland, to the bequest of Margaret
