Maryland.

On motion of Mr. Clarke,

Leave was granted the Committee on Ways and Means to in-
troduce a bill to provide compensation for the Lieutenant
Governor when not acting as President of the Senate.

On motion of Mr. Clarke,

Leave was granted the Baltimore county delegation to in-
troduce a bill for the protection of Sheep and Wool grow-
ers, in Baltimore county.

On motion of Mr. Dennis,

Leave was granted the Committee on Roads and Highways,
to introduce a bill in relation to funerals, in the State of Mary-
land.

Mr. Gorsuch (the rules being suspended) presented a peti-
tion from E. T. Goldsborough and 50 other citizens of Fred-
erick county, praying the passage of an Act authorizing and
directing the States Attorney of Frederick county, to insti-
tute proceedings against the President, Managers & Company,
of the Baltimore and Frederickstown Turnpike Company far
reasons stated.

Which was read and referred to Committee on Judiciary,
On motion of Mr. Jones,

Leave was granted the Committee on Corporations to report
a bill to be entitled, an Act to incorporate the Good Intent
Lodge, No. 99, of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows of
Somerset county.

On motion of Mr. Jones,

Leave was granted Messrs. Jones, Phelps and Dennis, to
report a bill to be entitled, an Act to authorize the Register
of Wills, for Dorchester county, to record the will of the
late Dr. Joseph Nicols of said county;

On motion of Mr. Knott,

Leave was granted the Judiciary Committee to introduce
a bill to repeal sections 151, 152, 153 and 154, of Article 4,
Code of Public Local Laws entitled, "coroners-and inquests,
ia the city of Baltimore," and to substitute other sections
therefor.

On motion of Mr. Aydelott,

Leave was granted the Worcester county delegation to re-
port a bill to create the offices of Lumber Inspector and Wood
Corder for the Pocomoke and Wicomico rivers.

Mr, Clark from the Committee on Claims reported favora-
bly upon the bill entitled, an Act to extend the provions of
