parties for payments therein mentioned;

On motion of Mr. Williams,
Referred to tire Committee on Ways and Means.

Mr. Carmichael from the Committee on the Judiciary -re-
ported unfavorably in the leave to introduce a bill entitled)
an Act to make valid the Acts of Geo. W. Ritter, a Justice
of the Peace, of Baltimore county, which

Was recommitted to the Committee on the Judiciary.
On motion of Mr. Nicolai,

Also, on the bill entitled, an Act exempting from execu-
tion and ether final process of few except distress for rent, of
property in the State of Maryland, to the value of $500.

Also, upon the petition of a very large number of citizens
of Howard county, showing that the Baltimore and Freder-
ick Turnpike Company, is charging excessive tolls and pray-
ing redress,

Mr. Nicolai upon the Committee on Corporations resported
favorably the bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Ashland
Iron Company of Baltimore County;

Whics was read the first time.

Mr. Carmichael from the Committee on the Judiciary re-
ported favorably on a bill entitled, an Act for the benefit of
the Library Company of the Baltimore Bar;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Nicolai from the Committee on Corporations reported
favorably upon the bill entitled, an Act to amend an Act,
passed, by the General Assembly of Maryland, January, ses-
sion, 1866, entitled, an Act to incorporate the Maryland
Land and Emigration Company.

Also, a bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Slaughter's
Steamboat Company.

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Monumental

Hotel Company;

Which were severally nead,a first time.

Mr. Carmichael from Committee on Judiciary, reported
favorably on the bill entitled, an Act to change the name of
Fanny Hyde Beach to that of Fanny tabby Brewer ;

Also, the bill entitled, an Act to provide for copying two

dockets in the Register's Office of Montgomery county;

Which were severally read a first time.

Mr. Aydelott, from Select Committee, reported favorably
a, bill entitled, an Act to authorize the County Commissioners
