Whitaker, Lindsey, Magruder, Calvert, Rouzer, Buhrman,
Baker, Linthicum, Gorsuch, Steiner, Bamford, Appleman,
Tobey, Hoffhine, Bishop, Hutton, Burche, Turner, Coleman,
Neilson, Smith, Flaherty, Robson, Hooper, Israel, Lankford,
Kraft, Thomson, Davis of Baltimore city, Waltemeyer, Feig,

The Journal uf yesterday was read and approved.

Mr. Magruder presented a memorial from ninety-five citi-
tizens and mercantile firms of Washington city, D.C., pray-
ing the General Assembly, not to, modify, amend or repeal
the charter of the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad Com-
pany;

Which was read and retered to Committee on Internal Im-
provements,

Also, a memorial of the Boards of Trade of Washington
and Georgetown, praying the General Assembly not to modi-
fy, amend or repeal the charter of the Baltimore and Potomac
Railroad Company;

Also, a memorial of Henry Addison, Mayor of George-
town and twenty-eight business firms of that city, praying
the General Assembly not to modify or amend the charter of
the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad Company;

Which were read and severally referred to the Committee
on Internal Improvements.

Mr. Evans presented the petition of the Crier of the Circuit
Court for Cecil county, for increase of compensation.
Which was read and referred to Cecil delegation.

Mr. Thomas presented the petition from I C. W. Powell,
praying to be allowed commission on a sum of money paid
into the Treasury by him as States Attorney:

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr. Burch presented the petition of the President and Di-
rectors of the Union Plank or Turnpike Company, to change
its name, and for other purposes;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Roads
and Highways.

Mr. Nelson presented the petition from John S. Dallam
and others of Harford county, praying for the restoration of
