On motion by Mr. Spates,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Internal Improve-
ments to introduce a bill entitled, an Act to empower Atwood
Blunt, of Baltimore county, State of Maryland, to construct
a railroad from the Waltersville Quarry to the Baltimore and
Ohio Railroad.

On motion by Mr. Spates,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Spates, Waters and Kimmell,
to introduce a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate "The Alle-
gany Land Company."

On motion by Mr. Tome,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Tome, Bowie and Vickers,
to introduce a bill to empower the President and Commission-
ers of the Village of Port Deposit, Cecil county, to straight-
en streams of water and muke culverts in said village.

Mr. Davis, of Washington, moved that the Senate adjourn,

Mr. Davis withdrew his motion.

Mr. Tome moved a call of the Senate,

The Sergeant-at-Arms was sent to inform the absent Sena-
tors that their attendance was required in the Senate Cham-
ber.

The Sergeant-at-Arms returned and reported that he had
notified the absent Senators.

On motion by Mr. Bowie,

Leave was granted to Messrs. Bowie, Frazier and Tome, to
introduce a bill to authorize Fredrick Sasscer, clerk of the
Circuit Court of Prince George's county, to transcribe or have
transcribe the old chancery docket in his office, from Septem-
ber term, 1803, to November term, 1851, in the manner and
form prescribed by law.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the follow-
ing:

A bill entitled, an Act to authorize the Baltimore Steam
Packet Company, to issue bonds and increase their capital stock
to the amount of their expenditures;

Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee
on Internal Improvements.

Mr. Bowie moved a call of the Senate,

The Sergeant-at-Arms was sent to inform the absent Sena-
tors that their presence, was required in the Senate Chamber.

The Sergeant-at-Arms returned and stated that he had no-
tified the absent Senators.
