Which was read and referred to the Committee on Inter-
nal Improvements.

Mr. Davis, of Washington, presented sundry petitions of
citizens of Washington county, for an inquiry by the State,
into the legality of receiving tolls on the Baltimore and Fred-
erick Turnpike'Road Company, by reason of non-user or abuse
of their charter;

Which were severally read and referred to Messrs. Davis,
of Washington, Spates and Holton.

On motion by Mr. Vickers,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, to introduce a bill to make valid certain bequests under
the will of Eleanor G. Scott, late of Baltimore city, deceased.

On motion by Mr. Vickers,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, to introduce a bill to levy a tax on the assessable pro-
perty of Kent county to aid in constructing the Kent county
Rail Road.

On motion by Mr. Vickers,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, to introduce a bill to exempt from taxation, the proper-
ty of Kent Lodge, No. 74, of Independent Order of Odd Fel-
lows, at Galena, in Kent couuty.

On motion by Mr. Vickers,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
introduce a bill to incorporate the Quaker Neck Wharf Com-
pany, on Chester river, in Kent county.

On motion by Mr. Vickers,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to introduce a bill entitled, an Act to make valid deeds
executed and acknowledged since the first day of November
eighteen hundred and sixty-four, before Justices of the Peace
in any county in this State, where the grantors resided or
lands situated.

On motion by Mr. Vickers,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to introduce a bill entitled, an Act to repeal a portion of the
1st and 2d sections of the Act of January session, 1856, chap-
ter 248, entitled, an Act to incorporate the Elkton and Sassa-
fras River Railroad Company, and the 1st and 2d sections of
the Act passed January session 1858, chapter 138, entitled,
an Act to amend the Act to incorporate the Elkton and Sassa-
fras River Rail Road Company, and to appropriate a part of
the fund allotted by law to the works of Internal Improve-
ment, in Cecil county.
