jected.

The bill was then read the second time, and ordered to be
engrossed for a third reading.

The Secretary of the Senate delivered the following mes-
sage:

BY THE SENATE

January 21, 1867.
Gentlemen of the House of Delegates :

We have received the proposition of Your Honorable Body,
that the Committees on Imigration of the Senate and House
of Delegates, act conjointly upon the suggestions made in the
Message of His Excellency the Governor, relating to the
amendment of the Immigration act, and respectfully concur
therein.

By order,

A. GASSAWAY,

Secretary.

The bill entitled, an Act to Incorporate the Burkettsville
Female Seminary of Frederick county;

Was read a second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a
third reading.

The Secretary of the Senate returned the following bill:
A bill entitled, an Act to repeal the fourth, seventh, fif-
teenth, sixteenth and twentieth sections of the fourth Article
of the Public Local Laws of the city of Baltimore, relative to
the qualification of Electors in said city, and regulating the
time for holding elections for Mayor and Members of the City
Council, and the terms of and the times for entering upon the
duties of said office, and to enact the same with proposed
amendments;

AMENDMENTS PROPOSED:

Section 7, line 2, "strike out 2,500," and insert 3,000."

Section 20, line 5, strike out the word "setting," and in-
sert the word "sitting."

Title line 4, strike out the word "Elections," and insert the
word "Electors."

In 4th line, after the word "on," insert the "same day
in."

Section 4, line 7, after the word "twenty five," insert "or
upwards."

The time having arrived for taking up the order of the day
being the bill entitled, an Act to frame a New Constitution,
and form of Government for the State of Maryland ;
