On motion of Hammond,

Leave was granted the Committee on the Judiciary to
introduce a bill to add new sections to Article 30 of the
Code of Public General Laws, entitled, "Crime and Pun-
ishment," under the head of "Sentence," making other pro-
visions for the punishment of larceny and other minor
offenses.

Mr. Magruder from the Committee on the Judiciary, re-
ported favorably a bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 2, of
Article 82, of the Code of Public General Laws, and to re-
enact the same with amendments;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Nicolai from the Committee on the Judiciary, reported
favorably the bill entitled, an Act to make valid the official
acts of Justices of the Peace appointed by Governor Bradford
during the month of December 1865, and January 1866;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Bruce from a Select Committee submitted a report re-
lative to the Maps of the boundary line between Maryland
and Virginia;

Which was read, and

On motion of Mr. Neilson,

The report with the accompaning memorial was ordered to
be printed;

Mr. Carmichael from the Committee on the Judiciary re-
ported unfavorably on the petition of David P. Taylor and
100 other citizens of Frederick county, Maryland, praying the
passage of a law exempting members of the German Baptist
Church from serving as Jurors;

Which was adopted.

Mr. Knott from the Committee on the Judiciary reported
unfavorably on the bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 38,
Article 10, of the Code of Public General Laws, and to re-
enact the same with amendments;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Carmichael from the Committee on the Judiciary, re-
ported unfavorably on the following bills:

A bill entitled, an Act to repeal sections 5, and sub-section
2, of chapter 109, passed January session, 1864.

Also, a bill entitled, an Act to amend article sixteen of the
Code of Public General Laws, in relation to Divorces, by re-
pealing section 25, and re-enacting the same with amend-
ments, and by adding sub-section thereto, to be inserted in
said Code, after section 25.
