Which was read and reterred to a Select Committes.
On motion of Mr. Jones,

The vote by which the order, submitted by Mr. Buhrman,
requesting the Governor to furnish the House with a copy of
the telegraphic dispatches, and other correspondence with
the President, General Grant and General Canby, relative to
the late election in this State, was reconsidered.

The question being on the adoption of the order,

It was decided in the affirmative.

Mr. Clarke submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Committee on Claims pay the same per
diem to the Chaplains of the House of Delegates as to the
other officers of this House ;

Mr. Davis, of Charles, moved to iay said order on the
table;

Decided in the affirmative.
On motion of Mr. Dawson,

Ordered. That it be entered upon the Journrl that William
G. Horsey is absent from his seat in this House by reason of
sickness in his family.

Mr. Clarke submitted the following order :

Ordered, That this House do now instruct the Committee
on Claims what compensation, if any, is to be paid Chap-
lains per day, and for what number of days.

On motion of Mr. Burche,
The order was laid on the table.

On motion of Mr. Dennis,

Leave was granted Messrs Dennis, Carrmichael, Aydelott,
Williams, Hall, McCulloh, Ford, Horsey, Benton, Whitaker,
Davis, of Charles, Kerr, Steiner, Whiteford, Hammond, Beck,
Burche, Calvert, Morgan, Jump and Appleman, to report a
bill entitled, an Act relating to the construction and repair-
ing of roads and bridges.

On motion of Mr. Nicolai,

Leave was granted the Committe on Corporations, to re-
port a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Trust Company
of Maryland.

Also, leave to introduce a bill entitled, An Act to repeal
chapter 115, Act 1865, entitled. A further supplement to
to an Act entitled, an Act to incorporate companies to make
several turnpike roads through Baltimore county, ad for
other purposes.' "
