adoption of the said amendment.

On motion of Mr. Stevens,

Ordered, That the Adjutant General furnish this House
the number, or approximate number of volunteers enlisted
for three years in the United States service, from April, 1861,
to 26th day of May, 1863.

On motion of Mr. Beck,

Ordered, That it be entered upon the Journal that Mr,
Welch is absent from this House on account of sickness in
his family.

On motion of Mr. Stevens,

Ordered, That five hundred copies of the Militia Bill be
printed for the use of the members.

Mr. Neilson moved to reconsider the vote by which the
order to appoint James Treagle an additional clerk, was laid on
the table ;

Decided in the affirmative.

The question being on the adoption of the amendment
submitted by Mr. Burche ;
It was withdrawn.
Mr. Magraw submitted the following amendment:

Strike out the name of James Treagle and insert the name
of William Reed ;
Which was rejected.
Mr. Whiteford submitted the following amendment:

Strike out the name of James Treagle and insert the name
of E. B. Magraw, of Harford county ;

Which was rejected.

Mr. Evans submitted the following amendment:

Strike out the name of James Treagle and insert the name
of Charles Lewis;

Which was rejected.

Mr. Kerr submitted the following amendment;
Strike out the name of James Treagle and insert the name
of J. R. Bramble ;
Which was rejected.

The question recurring on the adoption of the order,
It was decided in the affirmative.
