So it appeared that no person received a majority of all the
votes cast for Senator of the United States.
The joint session was then adjourned until to-morrow at
12 o'clock.
Mr. Neilson from the Committee on Militia, reported favor-
ably a bill entitled, an Act to repeal article 63 of Code of
Public General Laws, relating to Militia, and sections 652 to
770, both inclusive of article from Code of Public Laws re-
lating to Militia in the city of Baltimore, and to enact said
article 63, with amendments;

Mr. Clark from the Committee on Claims, reported un-
favorably the bill entitled an Act, to authorize the State upon
the warrant of the Comptroller, to pay over to J. W. Black-
burn of Baltimore city, the arrears of his salary as Chief
Clerk in Tobacco Warehouse No. 2;
