ington county to pay the clerks of Registration for service
rendered.
On motion of Mr. Parsons,
Leave was granted the Somerset County delegation to intro-
duce a bill to authorize the Commissioners of Somerset coun-
ty to compensate the officers of Registration.
On motion of Mr. Clark,
Leave was granted the Baltimore county Delegation to
report a bill entitled, a supplement to an Act incorporating
the Charles Street Avenue Company, passed at January ses-
sion, eighteen hundred and fifty-four;
Also, leave was granted the same Delegation, to report a
bill entitled an Act, to amend an Act entitled an Act, to in-
corporate the Charles Street Avenue Company.
On motion of Mr. Dawson.
Leave was granted the Committee on the Judiciary, to re-
port a bill to be entitled an Act to repeal an Act, passed at
January session, 1866, entitled an Act, to repeal the 43d and
44th sections of article six, of the Public Local Laws for
Caroline county, relating to the Circuit Court for said county,
and to re-enact the same with amendments.
On motion of Mr. Magruder,
Leave was granted the Committee on the Judiciary, to
introduce a bill, to repeal chapter 43 of the Code of Public
General Laws of Maryland, passed at the January session,
1862, relating to Wild Fowl, and to re-enact the same with
amendments.
On motion of M. Whitaker,
Leave was granted the Committee on Claims, to report a
bill to refund to John B. Graham, Collector of the 5th Dis-
trict of Cecil county, taxes overpaid in error.
Mr. Hammond, (the rules being suspended) presented a
petition from fifty-one citizens of Washington county, show-
ing that abuses exist in the summoning and selecting of
jurors in said county, and praying that a mode may be
adopted by which the best men of the county may be selected,
without regard to their political opinions;
Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.
The hour of 12 o'clock having arrived, in acccordance with
the invitation sent to the Senate, and in conformity with the
Act or Congress, chapter 245, entitled, "an Act to regulate
the time and manner of holding elections for Senators in Con-
gress," theSenators of Maryland, appeared in the Hall of the
House, and the two bodies conjointly, proceeded to hold an
