Which was read, assented to and sent to the Senate.
Mr. Ford presented a petition from J. E. Davis, asking to
be refunded taxes paid in error;

Which was read and referred to Committee on Claims.

Mr. Knott presented a petition from F. A. Prevost, of Bal-
timore city, for compensation as one of the clerks of the
Superior Court of Baltimore city;

Which was read and refered to Committee on Claims.

Mr. Morgan presented a petition from the Registrators for
St. Mary's county, asking that a law may be passed allowing
the Commissioners of St. Mary's county, to levy a sum of
money on the assessable property of said county for their
relief;

Which was read and referred to Committee on Registration.

On motion of Mr. Kerr,

Ordered, That the Comptroller furnish this House with the
contracts and bills for printing the laws, documents, bills and
journals of proceedings of the House of Delegates, for the
years 1860 and 1862;

On motion of Mr. McCullogh,

Ordered, That the Speaker be authorised to give to Gen-
eral Duff Green, the use of the Hall of the House, that he
may this evening at seven o'clock explain the bill to incor-
porate the "American Industrial Agency," to such members
of the Senate and House of Delegates as may desire to hear
him do so.

On motion of Mr. Appleman,

Ordered, That the Committee on Public Buildings proceed
immediately to arrange the heating of this Hall to make it
more uniform.

Mr. Clarke submitted the following order:

Ordered, That this House appoint a clerk to mark on all
documents or any writings for Committees, folded for the use
of the members of this House, naming what they are, and
that James Teakle of Howard county, be appointed to that
position;

Mr. Burch submitted the following amendment:
Strikeout the name of "James Treackle," and insert the
name of William M. Canby;

Mr. Hall moved to lay the amendment on the table.
Which was decided in the affirmative.

On motion of Mr. Kerr,
