Mr. Kerr presented the following message :

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

January 14, 1867.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

We have received your message proposing a Joint Commit-
tee consisting of the Committees on Printing of both branches
of the General Assembly to whom shall be referred the report
of the Comptroller, in compliance with an order requiring
certain information upon the subject of the syseem of con-
tract printing, is received, and this body concurs therein.

Mr. Welch presented a petition from William Rogers,
Register for the 1st District of Kent county, for compensa-
tion ;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. Thomas presented a petition from citizens of the town
of Easton, praying that the corporation laws of said town may
be so amended as to confer power on the Commissioners to
improve Washington street, in said town, in the manner
therein set forth;

Which was read and referred to the Talbot County delega-
tion.

Mr. Burch presented a petition from citizens of Montgom-
ery county, praying that the officers of Registration may be
paid for their services ;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. Kraft presented a petition from George L. Leonard, for
State Bounty;

Which was read and referred to Committee on Claims.

The Speaker laid before the House, the report of Philemon
Griffith, State Tobacco Inspector of Warehouse No. 3 ;

Which was read, and
Referred to Committee on Inspections.
Also, the report of the Police Commissioners of Baltimore
city, to the Senate and House of Delegates of Maryland ;
Which was read, and
Referred to the Baltimore city delegation.
