mentary to an Act to incorporate the Baltimore City Passen-
ger Railway Company, passed February 13, 1862, chapter 71;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Baker, from a Select Committee, reported favorably a
bill entitled an Act to authorize the School Commissioners of
Frederick county, to pay to Jonas Urner and Nicholas Nor-
ris, two of the Trustees of the Primary School District, No.
53, in said county, a sum of money advanced by them for the
support of the School in said district, in the years 1863 and
1864;

Which was read the first time.

The resolutions directing the Comptroller to adjust and
settle the claims of Maryland soldiers,

Was taken up for consideration on their second reading.
On motion of Mr. Williams,

The said Resolutions were referred to the Committee on
Claims.

The bill entitled an Act to refund taxes erroneously paid
by William Gilmor, and Robt. Gilmor, Jr., of Baltimore city,
into the State Treasury, and to the Register of Baltimore city,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act for the preservation of growing
timber in Washington county,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to change the name of Ellenor
Kate Purnell, to Emma Catharine Puanell,

Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The bill entitled, an Act to repeal chapter 1, of the Laws
of Maryland, passed January 29, 1866, and re-enact the
same;

Was read the third time,

And passed by yeas and nays as follows:
