On motion of Mr. Hammond, he was excused from serving
as Chairman of the Committee on Education.

On motion of Mr. Evans, he was excused from serving as
Chairman of the Committee on Elections.

On motion of Mr. Buhrman,
The House adjourned.

The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Cassiday.

loh, Morgan, Neale, Nelson, Nicolai, Parsons, Phelps, Pitts,
Poole, Robson, Rouzer, Shipley, Smith, Spicer, Steiner, Ste-
vens, Thomas, Thomson, Tobey, Turner, Waltemeyer,
Welch, Whiteford, Whitaker, Williams—68.

The Journal of yesterday was read and approved.

Mr. Appleman presented a memorial from the Mayor and
Council of Hagerstown, authorizing the County Comissioners
to assume a part of the McCausland debt of said town;

Which was read and referred to the Washington county
delegation.

Mr. Beck presented a petition from George H. Wilson and
others, citizens of Kent county, asking that a law may be
