ing us that you have appointed the Rev. Mr. Cassady, as
Chaplain, and proposing an interchange of services with the
gentlemen who may be appointed by us. We respectfully
inform you that we have appointed as Chaplains of this
House,Revs. Mr. Leech, Hammond, McNamar and Hender-
son,and accept your proposition for an interchange of ser-
vices.

Which was read, assented to and sent to the Senate.
The resolutions introduced by Mr. Boswell on Thursday
last, endorsing the policy of the President of the United
States, and Governor of Maryland,

Were taken up.

Mr. Buhrman called for a division of the question.

The question being on the adoption of the first resolution,

Mr. Linthicum moved to strike out the word "President,"
and insert the word "Congress."

Decided in the negative.

The first resolution was then read the second time and
passed by yeas and nays as follows :
