men of the town of Hagerstown, known as the McCausland
debt, as they may deem just and equitable ;

Which was read the first time and referred to Messrs. Da-
vis, Trail and Stirling.

A bill entitled, an Act to change the name of W. H. C.
Oldson to Harvey Oldson Palmer ;

Which was read the first time and referred to the the Com-
mittee on Judicial Proceedings.

A bill entitled, an Act to secure the completion of the Dor-
chester and Delaware Rail Road ;

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Judicial Proceedings.

Mr. Maddox, from the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, reported a bill entitled, an Act to amend and re-enact
section 22d of an Act to repeal Article 71 of the Code of Pub-
lic General Laws entitled, "Oysters," regulating the taking
and catching of oysters within the waters of this State, and
to re-enact the same with amendments thereto ;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Mules, from the Committee on Corporations, reported
a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Academy of Sci-
ences of the city of Baltimore ;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Stirling, from the Committee on Corporations, reported
a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Equitable Gas Light
Company of Baltimore city ;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Stirling, from the Committee on Corporations, reported
a bill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Maryland Central
Rail Road Company ;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Bowie from the Committee on Agriculture, reported a
bill entitled, an Act to prevent the spread of the disease call-
ed glanders, in this State;

Which was read the first time, and

On motion by Mr. Bowie,
The rules were suspendnd, and

The bill was read a second time, and ordered to be en-
grossed for a third reading; and

On motion by Mr. Bowie,
Was re-committed to the Committee on Agriculture.

Mr. Compton" from the Committee on Education, to which
