On motion by Mr. Stephenson,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance to report
a bill to refund to Isaac Amos, late Sheriff of Harford county,
a sum of money erroneously paid into the State Treasury by
him.
On motion by Mr. Spates,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations, to
report a bill to amend the charter of the town of Frostburg,
in Allegany county.
On motion by Mr. Spates,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to re-
port a bill empowering the Wellersburg and West Newton
Plank Road Company of Pennsylvania, to use and occupy a
road purchased by them from the Cumberland and Somerset
Turnpike Road Company, in this State, upon proper condi-
tions and under certain restrictions.
On motion by Mr. Bowie, it was
Ordered, That Senator Mules, of Baltimore city, have leave
of absence for two days, to attend the funeral obsequies of a
deceased friend.
On motion by Mr. Kimmel,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to report a bill to be entitled, an Act to repeal the
fourth, (4,) seventh, (7,) fifteenth, (15,) sixteenth, (16,)
twentieth, (20,)_two hundred and thirteenth, (213,) two hun-
dred and twenty-second, (222,) and two hundred and twenty-
eighth, (228,) sections of the fourth Article of the Code of
Public Local Laws relating to the city of Baltimore, and to
the election of Mayor and Members of the City Council of
said city, their terms of office respectively, the time for en-
tering upon the duties of tlieir offices respectively, and to
amend and to re-enact the said sections, and to enact a sub-
stitute for section two hundred and twenty-seven, (227,) re-
pealed, relating to elections in the city of Baltimore.
The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the follow-
ing bills:
A bill entitled, an Act to provide for taking the sense of
the people of the State on a call of a convention to frame a
new Constitution and form of government, and for assembling
the members thereof;
Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Judicial Proceedings. ,
A bill entitled, an Act to authorize and empower the Coun-
ty Commissioners of Washington county, in their discretion,
