mittee on Printing.

Mr. Davis, of Caroline, frooa the (Select Committee, reported
a bill entitled an Act, to repeal so much ,of Section one of the
act of 1860, chapter 303, entitled an Act, to carry into effect
the eighth section of the Act entitled an Act for the promo-
tion of Internal Improvements, passed December Session, 1835,
chapter 395, as appropriates ($13,000) thirteen thousand dol-
lars to the Choptank and Mispillion Rail Road Company,
and to appropriate the $13,000 to the Dorchester and Dela-
ware Rail Road Company, incorporated at the extra session of
the General Assembly of Maryland, passed February 6th,
1866, chapter 52;

Which was read the first time.
On motion of Mr. Earle,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations, to
report a bill, to incorporate Corsica Lodge, No. 118, of An-
cient Free and Accepted Masons.

On motion of Mr. Waters,
The Senate then adjourned.

MONDAY, January 7th, 1867.

The following communication was received from the Lieut.
Governor:

BALTIMORE, Jan'y 6th, 1867.
Hon. J. T. EARLE,

My Dear Sir:—An important engagement will prevent my
attendance in the Senate to-morrow. Will you do me the
kindness to preside in my place, and make this explanation
to the Senate.

Mr. Earle accordingly assumed the duties of the Chair.
