Mr. Vickers presented the memorial of George B. Westcott
and 48 other citizens of Kent county, to levy a tax on said
county, to aid in the construction of the Kent county Rail
Road;
Which was read and referred to the committee already
raised upon that subject.
Mr. Vickers presented the memorial of James B. Steele and
others, asking for an appropriation to D. Blocksom for prose-
cuting William B. Paca and others in the Circuit Court, of
Caroline county;
Which was read and referred to the Committee on Finance,
On motion of Mr. Henkle, it was
Orderad, That the Secretary of the Senate be authorized to
have the lobby of the Senate chamber re-arranged and mare
comfortable seats furnished therein.
On motion of Mr. Vickers, it was
Ordered, That the State Librarian be and he is hereby di-
rected to cause a plan to be prepared for the enlargement of
the State Library, embracing four additional Committee
Booms for the use of the Senate, beneath said enlargement,
and also, an estimate of the probable cost thereof, and to fur-
nish the Senate with said plan and estimate, on or before the
fifteenth instant.
On motion of Mr. Henkle,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to
report a bill, to incorporate the Maryland Hotel Company in
the city of Annapolis.
On motion of Mr. Kimmel,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Internal Improve-
ments, to report a bill entitled an Act, to incorporate the Bal-
timore and Kingsville Turnpike Company.
Mr. Mules from the Committee on Corporations, reported a
bill entitled an Act, to incorporate the President and Direc-
tors of the Carroll Fire Insurance Company of Baltimore;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Vickers from the Committee on Corporations, to which
was referred the bill entitled an Act, to amend an Act, enti-
tled an Act, to incorporate a Company for the purpose of cut-
ting and making a Canal between the river Delaware, and the
Chesapeake Bay, passed at November session, 1799, chapter
16, and also, to amend a supplement thereto, passed at De-
cember session, 1833, chapter 379;
Reported it without amendment;
