MONDAY, February 4,1867.

The President laid before the Senate a communication
from Henry B. Blackwell, with accompanying documents;
Which was read, and

On motion of Mr. Earle,
Ordered to lie on the table.

Mr. Bowie presented the memorial of T. Meixsell, S. T. R.
Handy, Col. Salome T. Marsh, T. Taithful and 40 citi-
zens of Baltimore, praying the General Assembly not to alter
or amend the charter of the Baltimore and Potomac Rail
Road Company;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Internal
Improvements.

Mr. Bowie presented the memorial of Robert R. Kirkland,
John Glenn Elder and 38 large mercantile firms of Baltimore
city, praying the General Assembly not to alter or amend the
charter of the Baltimore and Potomac Rail Road Company;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Internal
Improvements.

Mr. Bowie presented the memorial of Hon. Fendall Mar-
bury, J. H. T. Magruder and other citizens of Maryland,
praying the General Assembly not to alter or amend the
charter of the Baltimore and Potomac Rail Road Company;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Inter-
nal Improvements.

Mr. Bowie presented the memorial of W. W. Hall
and 67 other citizens of Prince George's and Montgomery
county, praying the General Assembly not to alteror amend the
charter of the Baltimore and Potomac Rail Road company;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Inter-
nal Improvements.

Mr. Compton presented the memorial of Geo. D. Mudd,
Thos. Carrico and 41 other citizens of Charles county, praying
the General Assembly to reject any amendment or modifica-
tion of the charter of the Baltimore and Potomac Rail Road
Company;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Internal
Improvements.

Mr. Maddox presented the memorial of B. J. Plowden
and 56 residents of St. Mary's county, protesting against the
proposed change in the charter of the Baltimore and Potomac
Rail Road Company;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Internal
Improvements.
