age and had legal residence in said District, before the 1st
day of November, 1865; if so, name them and give your rea-
sons and authority for so doing?

Interrogatory 5. Was you registered as a voter before the
first day of August, 1866, and did you vote for State Senator
at the election on the 6th day of November, 1866; if so, for
whom did you so vote ?

SCHEDULE B.

Interrogatory 1. What is your name, age, occupation, resi-
dence and time of such residence?

Interrogatory 2. Was you a Judge of Election for said
Election District on the 6th day of November, 1866; if so,
did the judges of the said election make public a declaration
that all persons who had been registered in 1866 would, by
them, be required to take the oath of voters, as prescribed in
Article 1, section 4, of the Constitution of Maryland; if so,
for what reason; and did the said Judges of election have
armed men placed at the doors or windows of the place where
the polls were held, or authorize them to be so placed; if so,
state the reasons ?

Interrogatory 3. Did you as a judge of said election refuse or
reject the ballot tendered by any person whose name appeared
on the list of qualified voters unconditionally and peremptori-
ly and without requiring them to take any oath; if so, whom
and for what reasons?

Interrogatory 4. Did you see or hear of any violence, in-
timidation or threats used by any person or persons to deter
or intimidate persons from offering their votes; if so, state the
name or names of the persons so prevented, and by whom
used, and was the election on the 6th of November, 1866, as
quiet and orderly as usual at your said polls ?

Interrogatory 5. Is it or not, customary for the people of
your District to carry their guns with them to public gather-
ings more particularly at that season of the year, and was
there an unusual display of guns on the day of election, was
there any special reason therefor; if so, state the reason fully
and whether the armed men were of one or both political par-
ties and give their names?

Interrogatory 6. Did you hear any discharge of fire arms
on the day of said election near the polls; if so, under what
citcumstances, in what manner, and by whom ?
