in, upon Alfred Spates, at Cumberland, Allegany county,
Maryland, on the 15th day of December, 1866.

SCHEDULE A.

CUMBERLAND, MD., December 26, 1866.

Interrogatory 1. What is your name, age, occupation resi-
dence, and time of such residence ?

Interrogatory 2. Was you appointed an officer of registra-
tion for said Election District, did you qualify as such and dis-
charge the duties of said officer of registration for and in said
District; if so, state the year for which you so acted and
whether you had read the Constitution and law regulating
the registration of voters before entering on the discharge of
the duties of said office, and did you administer the oath of
voters as prescribed in Article 1, section 4, of the Constitution
ef Maryland, to each person before entering his name in the
eighth column of the book of registration, or on the list of
qualified voters, and did you give notice as required by law
of the times and places of registration ?

Interrogatory 3. Did you or did you not enter in the eighth
column of the book of registration, or on the list of quali-
fied voters for said District, the names of persons whose names
had previously been entered or registered as disloyal; if so,
state your authority and reason for so doing, fully and in de-
tail, with the names of the persons so entered ?

Interrogatory 4. Did you enter on your said book of regis-
tration, any names not before entered, and register them as
qualified voters; if so, were they persons who were of lawful
