On motion of Mr. Bowie,
The Senate adjourned until to-morrow at 12 o'clock, M.

FRIDAY, February 1, 1867.

The President laid before the Senate the following ' commu-
nication form William J. Leonard, Esq., Comptroller of the
Treasury, in response to an order of the Senate of the 31st in-
stant;

COMPTROLLER'S OFFICE,

ANNAPOLIS, February 1, 1867.
To the Hon. C. C. Cox,

President of the Senate:

SIR :—In obedience to an order adopted by the Senate, I
have the honor to transmit herewith, a statement showing
the receipts into the Treasury from the Baltimore and Ohio
Rail Road Company, on account of one-fifth of receipts from
passengers on the Washington Branch of said road, from the
first day of January, 1848, to the 31st December, 1853, and
from the first January, 1854, to the 31st December, 1860.
