The Senate proceeded to the consideration of Executive
Business.

After a time the Senate resumed the consideration of Legis-
lative Business.

The Senate resumed the consideration of the bill entitled,
an Act to protect fish and wild fowl in the waters of Romney
Creek, in Harford county;

Mr. Tome submitted the following amendment:

Strike out the fourth section ;

On the question being put, it was

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the follow-
ing message.

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

January 25, 1867.
Gentlemen of the Senate:

We have received your message, proposing that the Presi-
dent of the Senate and Speaker of the House of Delegate, ad-
dress a joint letter to his Excellency, Thomas Swann, inform-
ing him of his electioa to the Senate of the United States, for
six years from the fourth day of March, 1867, and concur
therein.

Chief Clerk.
On motion of Mr. Tome,

The bill entitled, an Act appropriating a sum of money to
erect a monument over the remains of Chief Justice Taney,
was laid over informally.

The President laid before the Senate the report of the
President and Visitors of the Maryland Hospital.
