Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings to report a bill entitled, an Act to repeal the following
sections of Article 30 of the Code of Public General Laws,
title "crimes and punishments," to wit, sections sixty-nine,
seventy, seventy-one and seventy-two, sub-title "importing
convicts or slaves," sections seventy-five and seventy-seven,
sub-title "incendiary and obscene publications," sections
ninety-four, ninety-five, ninety-six and ninety-seven, sub-
title "kidnapping," section one hundred and twenty-
eight, sub-title "marrying unlawfully," section one hundred
and forty-one, sub-title "murder," sections one hundred and
forty-six, one hundred and forty-seven, one hundred and for-
ty-eight, one hundred and forty-nine and one hundred and
fifty, sub-title "negroes," sections one hundred and fifty-three
and one hundred and fifty-four, sub-title "passes to negroes,"
section one hundred and sixty-eight, sub-title "religious
meetings," and sections one hundred and seventy-four, one
hundred and seventy-five, one hundred and seventy-six and
one hundred and seventy-seven, sub-title "runaways."
The President appointed Mr. Spates to fill the committees
made vacant by Mr. Ohr.
On motion of Mr. Vickers,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to introduce a bill to repeal an Act passed at January Ses-
sion, 1864, chapter 282, entitled, "an Act to add the follow-
ing section to the fortieth Article of Public General Laws,
requiring Jurors to take the oath of allegiance."
On motion of Mr. Vickers,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Vickers, Earle and Waters,
to introduce a bill to provide for the building of a wharf at
the old Crews Landing, near the mouth of Sassafrass River,
in Kent, county.
Mr. Earle, from the Committee on Finance, to whom was
referred the bill entitled, an Act for the relief of the Grand
Lodge of Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons of Maryland ;
Reported it without amendment;
The bill was read the second time, and
On motion of Mr. Mackall,
Was read the third time by special order, and passed by
