Mr. Kimmel moved to take up for consideration, the bill
edtitled, an Act to repeal section 227 of Article 4 of the Code
of Public Local Laws, relating to elections in the city of Bal-
timore, and to re-enact the same with amendments ;

Mr. Vickers submitted the following amendment:

Strikeout "fifty" and insert "one thousand," before the
word "dollars ;"

Determined in the affirmative.

Mr. Vickers submitted the following :

Strike out the words "the usual mode," and insert in "all
the daily newspapers in the said city, till the day of elec-
tion;"

Determined in the affirmative.

The bill was then read a third and time passed by yeas and
