This Commission was appointed under the provisions of Resolution
No. 26 of the General Assembly of 1920. The Resolution provides that
a Commission, not exceeding seven, be appointed to serve without com-
pensation, for the purpose of revising the Insurance laws of this State,
and to report the result of its labors to the General Assembly of 1922.

This Commission was appointed under the provisions of Chapter 715
of the Acts of the General Assembly of 1920. The Commission is
authorized to study the system of mining as practiced in Maryland, the
mining legislation of Maryland and of other mining States and coun-
ties, and mining experience and upon the information obtained to pre-
pare a report with recommendation for a code of mining laws, which code
and report shall be submitted to the General Assembly of Maryland at ita
next regular session.

The Industrial and Welfare Commission was appointed under the
provisions of Resolution No. 14 of the General Assembly of 1920. The
Commission is authorized to investigate, revise and prepare the Industrial
and Welfare Laws of this State, and to recommend such legislation
essential to bring about a more harmonious condition between employer
and employee. The Commission is required to make a full report, to-
gether with such recommendations as it may deem proper, to the General
Assembly of 1922.
