He is the official channel for communication with the War and
Navy Departments on all matters and affairs relating to the federal
government's interest in the militia of the State.
In all matters pertaining to the military establishment of the State
or the military relations of the State with the United States, communi-
cations should be addressed to The Adjutant General, State of Mary-
land, Annapolis.
The Assistant Adjutant General and the Assistant to the Acting
Quartermaster General are appointed and commissioned by the Gov-
ernor upon the recommendation of the Adjutant General. (Ch. 103,
1908.) The Adjutant General makes all other appointments,

All armories owned by the State and all buildings occupied, leased
or rented by or in behalf of the State for the purpose of organizing,
training and equipping such State Military Forces as may now or
hereafter be authorized by law, are under the management and con-
trol of the State Armory Commission consisting of the Governor, the
Comptroller of the Treasury and The Adjutant General.
This Commission is vested with the management, care, control and
maintenance of such armories and other buildings, and is clothed with
all power and authority therefor including the right to make and en-
force all reasonable rules and regulations in connection therewith.
