Which was read and referred to the Committee on Regis-
tration.
On motion of Mr. Norris,
Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that S. R.
Gore, Committee Clerk, is absent on account of sickness.
On motion of Mr. Harris,
Ordered, That one hundred additional copies of the peti-
tion asking for the repeal of the Registry Law, from Balti-
more city, be printed for the use of the members of this
House.
Mr. Wooden submitted the following order:
Ordered, That the chairman of the committee on Claims
issue certificates for the sum of forty dollars each to the offi-
cers of this House, as" mileage to said officers;
Which was rejected.
On motion of Mr. Poteet,
Ordered, That the committee on Claims be instructed to
issue certificates, for such amount as is customary, to the
members or officers who are detained after the adjournment
of the General Assembly in closing up the business of the
session.
On motion of Mr. Poteet,
Ordered, That the committee on Claims issue a certificate
for such amount as may be necessary to carry into effect the
provisions of an order adopted on yesterday, in regard to
furnishing the members of the House with postage stamps.
On motion of Mr. Poteet,
Ordered, That the chairman of the committee on Claims
be instructed to issue his warrant for compensation to Marion
Boswell, from the commencement of the session.
Mr. Buhrman, from a Select committee, submitted the fol-
lowing
REPORT:
WHEREAS, During the rebel invasion of Maryland in July,
1864, Mr. George Blessing, of Frederick county, aided by
his son, quite a youth, in a fight to protect his property, de-
feated some forty rebel cavalry, killing one, mortally wound-
ing another, and wounding and capturing a third with his
arms and horse—by so doing saving his family from insult
and his property from destruction; therefore,
