1866.] OF THE SENATE. 95 Mr. Waters, from the Select committee, reported a bill sanctioning the bequest of W. W. Johnson, late of Somerset county, to the vestry of Somerset Parish in said county; Which was read the first time, and by special order the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading, read the third time by special order, three-fourths concurring and passed by yeas and nays as follow: ,
Said bill was then sent to the House of Delegates. Mr. Tome, from the Select committee, reported a bill au- thorizing the Governor, Comptroller, and Treasurer to ex- change or sell a portion of the stock standing to the credit of the sinking fund; Which was read the first time, Mr- Frazier, from the Select committee, reported a bill prohibiting the sale of liquors at or near Church Creek, Dor- chester county; Which was read the first time. Mr. Tome, from the Select committee, reported a hill changing the Code relating to the appointment of Grain In- spectors; Which was read the first time and referred to the commit- tee on Judicial Proceedings. Mr. Earle, from the Select committee, reported a bill au- thorizing the Commissioners of Queen Anne's county to levy a, tax of $1,000 to construct a causeway in said county; Which was read the first time, and by special order the second time, and ordered to be engrossed for a third reading; read the third time by special order, three-fourths of the members concurring, and passed by yeas and nays, as follow: |
