On motion of Mr. Clarke,
Leave was granted Messrs. Clarke, Jenkins and Wells to
report a bill entitled, an Act authorizing the County Com-
missioners of Calvert, Prince George's, Charles and St.
Mary's counties, to subscribe to railroads in said counties,
On motion of Mr. Clarke,
Leave was granted the committee on Judicial Proceedings,
to report a bill entitled, an Act explanatory of the Acts of
1865, chapter 6; and 1865, chapter 194.
Mr. Clarke submitted joint resolutions allowing J. Keech
to withdraw certain papers from the files of the State;
Which were read the first time.
Mr. Frazier, from the committee on Corporations, reported
a bill entitled, an Act incorporating the Chesapeake Life In-
surance Company;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Tome, from the committee on Finance, reported a bill
entitled, an Act in favor of B. Fitzhugh, late clerk of the
circuit court for Frederick county;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Stephenson, from the committee on Judicial Proceed-
ings, reported a bill entitled, an Act to repeal section 107,
of Article 26, of General Laws, entitled, "Corporations;"
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Tome, from the committee on Finance, reported ,1 bill
entitled, an Act to refund to E. C. Small & Strain, moneys
erroneously paid for licenses;
Which was read the first time.
Mr, Wells, from the committee on Judicial Proceedings,
reported a bill entitled; an Act to repeal section 3, of Ar-
ticle 98, of General Laws, so far as it may relate to Anne
Arundel county, and to repeal section 211, of Article. 2, of
Local Laws, and re-enact the same with amendments;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Jenkins, from the committee on Corporations, report-
ed a hill entitled, an Act to incorporate the Southern Steam
Transportation Company;
Which was read the first time.
Mr. Wells, from the committee on Judicial Proceedings.
reported a bill entitled, an Act to change the name of B. E.
Long;
Which was read the first time.
