92 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Jan. 27,
Washington county to institute suit, in the name of the State,
against the President, Managers and Company of the Balti-
more and Frederick Turnpike Company.
On motion of Mr. McNeal,
Leave was granted Messrs. McNeal, Frazier and Vickers
to report a hill in favor of Edward M. Dawson and Leonidas
Dodson, of Talbot county.
On motion of Mr. Vickers,
Leave was granted the committee on Judicial Proceedings
to report a bill to amend the Act of 1865, chapter 8, en-
titled, an Act to enable Ruth & Co., of Chestertown, Md., to
occupy a portion of the public land on High street in said
town.
On motion of Mr. Vickers,
Leave was granted the committee on Finance to report a
hill to pay for publishing the laws of 1865 in the newspapers
of the State.
On motion of Mr. Vickers,
Leave was granted the committee on Judicial Proceedings
to, report an Act to amend the Act of 1856, chapter 257, for
incorporating the Muster and Warden of Clinton Lodge, No,
83, of Free and Accepted Masons.
On motion of Mr. Stephenson;
Leave was granted the committee on Judicial Proceedings
to report a bill to legalize the acts of justices of the peace in.
certain cases.
On motion of Mr. Vickers,
Ordered, That the committee on Elections report to the
Senate on the memorials and orders referred to thorn upon
the subject of the Repeal of the registration Law, by Thurs-
day next.
On motion of Mr. Trail,
Leave was granted the committee on Corporations to report
a hill entitled, an Act to repeal section twenty-two, of chap-
ter 140, of the laws passed in 1865, entitled, an Act to in-
corporate the Metropolitan Railroad Company.
On motion of Mr. Trail,
Leave was granted the committee on Judicial Proceedings
to report a bill entitled, an Act to change the name of Ben-
jamin Edes Long to Benjamin Long Edes.
