So the amendment was rejected.
Mr. Comegys submitted The .following' amendment:
Amendment to Section 10;
"Except all Churches of a less value than five thousand
dollars."
Mr. Valliant, called the previous question;
The question being, "She 'the main question be now put?"
It was decided, in the afirmative.
The question recuring upon the adoption of the amend-
ment;
It was decided in the negative.
Mr. Slothower, suhmited the following amendment:
Section 17, line 3, after the word, non-residents," insert
"of the State;"
Which was adopted.
Mr. Silver, submitted the following amendment;
"Strike out four dollars;," and -insert "three dollars,"
The question being on the adoption of the amendment;
Mr. Silver, demanded the yeas and nays;
The demand being- sustained
