So the amendment was rejected. Mr. Smith, of Dorchester, ("by unanimous consent,) sub- mitted the following amendment: Amend second section after the word "district", as fol- lows: "Begining at the mouth of Fishing Bay, thence by and with said Fishing Bay and with Little Blackwater river to the head waters of said river. near the town of Cambridge, thence by a straight line to the head waters of Cambridge creek, thence with the said creek to the Choptank river, and all on the cast side of' said line- shall constitute the First As- sessment District, and; all on the west side shall constitute the Second Assessment District;" Which was adopted. Mr. Comegys submitted the following amendment: "And that churches and cemeteries be excepted;" The question being on the adoption of the amendment. Mr. Comegys, demanded the yeas and nays; The demand, being sustained; The yeas and nays were called, and appeared as follow;
