1866.] OF THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES. 321 Mr. Angel presented the following petition, which, On motion of Mr. Buhrman, Was ordered to be printed on the Journal. To the Honorable, The House of Delegates of Maryland. We, the voters of Uniontown district, Carroll county, would respectfully represent that having signed a petition which we afterwards learned was for the purpose, of modifying or re- pealing the Registry Law of Maryland, would state that hav- ing been deceived in regard thereto, would take this method to ask that our names be considered as erased from the docu- ment.
On motion of Mr. Valliant, Ordered, That the Rev. Messrs. McNemar and Hammond, Chaplains to the House of Delegates he allowed each the sum of one hundred dollars. On motion of Mr. Buhrman, Ordered, That the Committee on Claims be and they are hereby authorized to pay the bills of expenses incurred on the occasion of the reception of Rear Admiral Porter, Ins Staff, and the Professors of the Naval Academy, who visited the General Assembly of Maryland on the 2d inst., by invitation. On motion of Mr. Poteet, Ordered, That the Clerk to the committee on Claims issue no more certificates after to-day until Thursday, 4 P. M. On motion of Mr. Miller, of Washington, Ordered, That the Printers to this House send by Express nil Documents that have not been distributed on Thursday, 8th inst., to the Clerk of the Court of each county town, of each county, and to the three points to be named by the Balti- more city delegation; |
