MONDAY, February 5, 1866.
The House met and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Owen.
Present at the call of the roll the following members:
Messrs. Frazier, Speaker, Angel, Bartell, Brow'i, Buhr-
man, Cairns, Clitt, Comegys, Cook, Cummings, Darling,
Dean, Eavy, Everhart, Fooks, Fawcett, Foster, Garrison,
Hambleton, Harris, Hazen, Hodson, Hoffman, Holloway,
Hopkins, Hynes, Jamison, Jones, King, Kirk, Leaverton, Lee,
Lusby, Malone, Markey, McCauley, Miller, of Washington,
Mittag, Mules, Norris, Parker, Pennington, Pilkington, Po-
'teet, Rider, Roberts, Sherry, Silver, Slothower, Smith, of Al-
legany, Smith, of Dorchester, Smith, of Frederick, Soper,
Stewart, Tolson, Tull, Usilton, Valliant, Wardwell, Warner,
Watkins, Willis, Wilson, Wooden; Zeigler—65.
Mr. Rider presented a petition from 161 citizens of Somer-
set county, in favor of the repeal or modification of the Re-
gistry law;
Also, a petition from the citizens of Quantici district, Som-
erset county in favor of the repeal or modification of the Re-
gistry law;
Mr. .Smith, of Allegany, presented a petition from D. H..
Freise, and others in opposition to. a repeal of the Registry
law;
Mr. Warner presented a petition from Benjamin W. Ben-
nett, and fifty-six citizens of Carroll county praying the re-
peal or modification of the Registry law;
Mr. Stewart presented a petition from W. H. Worthington,
and forty-two other citizens of Howard county praying for
the repeal or modification of the Registry law;
Mr. Miller, of Anne Arundel, presented a petition from
115 citizens of Anne Arundel county praying a repeal or
modification of the Registry law;
Mr. Silver presented a petition from Wm. S. Bowman, and
thirty-two other citizens of Harford county in favor of the
Registration law;
Mr. Angel presented a petition from citizens of Uniontown
district, Carroll county, against the repeal of the Registra-
tion law;
Which were severally read and referred to the committee
on Registration.
