Which was read the first time and referred to the commit-
tee on Ways and Means.
Mr. Pilkington, from the committee on Registration, sub-
mitted the following
REPORT:
The committee on Registration, to whom was referred the
petitions of 384 citizens of Carroll county, 36 citizens of Har-
ford county, 29 citizens of Prince George county, and F. A.
Linton and others of Cecil county, all praying the repeal of
the Law of Registration, beg leave to report unfavorably;
Which was adopted.
Also, favorably, with amendment, the bill entitled, an Act
to restore Wm. Thompson of R. of Montgomery county, to
the full right of citizenship.
Amendment proposed:
Amend section 1, line 3, by inserting after "Maryland,"
"and Stephen H. Bradley, of Centreville, of Queen Anne's
county,"
The amendment was concurred in; and
The bill read the second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.
Also, favorably, with amendment, the bill entitled, an Act
to restore the right of citizenship to certain persons in Dor-
chester, Worcester and Somerset counties;
Amendment proposed:
Amend section 1, by striking out the names of "Washing-
ton A. Smith, Levi D. Travers, J. Hopkins Tarr, T. A. J.
Halloway, William Williams, John 0. Horsey, Noah S.
Rider, Joseph H. Smith, John Emory Tull, Robert H.
Jones, Thomas H. Ballard, William Sewell Tull, Algernon
Whittington, W. H. C. Long, Thomas Ward, Thomas S.
Ward, William Colbourne of Somerset," and insert after
"Lemuel Malone," in fourth line, the words "seventh election
district, Somerset county," and after "Thomas F. J. Rider,"
in same line insert, "second election district of Somerset
county, and Greenbury M. Watkins, of the fourth election
district of Montgomery county."
Mr. Miller, of A. A. county, moved a division of the ques-
tion;
Which was sustained.
